People are all mentally ill. The DSM has no definition of normality. Have you ever met anybody that was normal? Neither have I, thank goodness. It's always the ones that seem the most normal that turn out to be the biggest whack jobs.

Fixing potholes and park equipment is pretty standard here, nothing unusual, nothing that is going to appeal to voters. In fact, nobody seems to notice when these things are repaired (except for the hassle when people can't park or drive through the spot being fixed up for a day), they just notice when they're not repaired.

It's like that Infrastructure Bill that Biden thought was going to land him on the FDR map. Nobody cares about patching up a bridge that could fall apart in a decade, they only care when it does and people die as a result.

I've been seeing it on social media a lot
People would simply tweet out that a pothole is somewhere, or that something is broken or faded, and the next day it'll mysteriously be fixed

I don't know, usually it takes time, although this late in the season, they probably got most of the potholes left over from last winter so I reckon there's less of a waiting time.

Not sure how they can do it overnight, because they have a whole process and paperwork and inspectors and blah blah blah before they even begin to do anything.

Well I certainly haven't heard about it, and it would require thousands of additional hires which we don't have the budget for to do them that fast.

I don't drive nor have a ride, so where I go I go on foot, and I've seen street and sidewalk damage in need of repair for quite a while with nothing being done. Not that everything is falling apart, but I haven't noticed anything being taken care of in a day.
