I have a Scottish ancestor who fought against England in the Battle of Culloden in 1746. The Scots lost and my ancestor was tried for treason and sent to America as a slave, not an indentured servant. So I'm gonna need some those reparations also.

There was an episode of Outlander that was all about the Battle of Culloden. The actual battle lasted around 30 minutes so they really could have shown the entire battle in that 1 episode. It was the last battle that Scotland ever fought against England.

I didn't see anyone in Outlander playing my ancestor Angus McDaniel. But then I don't think he held any rank. As far as I know he was just a foot soldier. And really the only non-fictional character in Outlander leading up to the Battle of Culloden and that was Charles Stewart or as he is called now Bonnie Prince Charlie. He was the one who always said, "mark me" in the series. He was the one who raised a Scottish army to restore his father to the English throne.

Why should we pay for what black people did to each other?

Black Africans had a good business going on capturing and selling other black African into the slave trade. Not to mention that in the United States there were up to about 30,000 slave owners who were black. Blacks owning other blacks. Which means to be fair, every black person needs to do their genealogy and find out if their ancestors were slaves or slave owners. Because if they were slave owners then they get no reparations. If if their ancestor was a slave who was freed and then worked until he could afford his own slaves. No reparations for you.

Not to mention that most of those 30,000 'owned' slaves that were actually members of their own families, purchasing them and holding on to that title to them in case they were kidnapped and resold into slavery.

This actually sounds logical. It could have happened. Not all of the black slave owners but I could see some of them buying their own family and friends just to protect them from other slave owners.

The best solution is to make every white lefty pay reparations. All others don't need to pay anything. In fact that would be a great idea for just about everything. Tax increases should be on only those who vote Democrat.

I actually would take 40 acres and a mule, just as long as I can choose the part of the country where the 40 acres are located. I certainly would NOT want 40 acres in the middle of Nevada. It is all just desert and there is no or very little water. I would NOT want 40 acres in any state that bordered Canada, especially the mid-western states. It's too cold. I would NOT want 40 acres that was along the border of the US and Mexico. It would collect far too much litter and far too much foot traffic when the Democrats are in power. I would NOT ask for 40 acres inside any big city because I like the country better.

However, I would never ask for any kind of reparation because I was never a slave and I don't want an entirely unnecessary tax increase just to hand out money to people who were never slaves and never earned it.

Excellent idea. Base taxes completely on the taxpayers return on investment. If welfare does not benefit me (or those who receive it) then I should not have to pay for it.

That is what Adam Smith believed and he played a huge influence on the founding fathers economic policies. I should only be forced to pay for a service of equal value.
