They pay taxes through the nose in Canada. Then they're told "it'll be 5 years before you can get your hip replaced." I had 3 Canadians tell me that horror story in Charleston WV when I got a hip replacement. When they found out I only had to wait for my employer to find someone to cover for me they CRIED.
UP until then I had mistakenly thought Socialized Medicine was a good idea. It's not. Ask the man who had to borrow money and travel to WV for joint replacement surgery.
