I can't vote in your elections, for starters, so it's moot. And I didn't support Obama. I don't support anyone who bombs kids. Being leftwing doesn't mean I'm automatically a fanboi for Obama or the Dems or their corrupt millionaire politicians, or Killary Clinton or creepy sleepy Joe, etc. He gives me the creeps too, ya know.

It's about values that transcend all that BS. I believe in humans. I want humans to live good lives. That's it. *And I think you do too*. So-called rightwing and leftwing people both want that, right? We both want humans to live good lives, don't we? We just don't agree on the best way to achieve that.

I mean, that's a huge comfort actually. Because it means we're really not that different, if you think about it. It's not like I believe in cannibalism and killing grannies and turning aborted fetuses into chicken nuggets and you don't. That would be kind of awkward. Luckily, we're all humans and we evolved together as a species, so, believe it or not, we have a lot more in common than a lot of us might think.

I want to live in a peaceful world where everyone can live in safety and prosperity and raise a family and enjoy life and stuff. And I think you do too. (I mean, I could be wrong tbf. What do you think?)

We're really not that different, you know? The difference is how we think we can achieve that. We differ in our ideology of how to achieve that. But we actually agree a lot on WHAT we want.

Thankfully. Unfortunately, we don't have a guidebook (unless you believe in the Bible or sth, but it wasn't specific on a lot of details, no offence).

So we're all trying to create a society that "works"; we just disagree strongly on HOW to achieve that. So we fight over it. But at least we basically want the same things. I don't want to eat your babies and you don't want to enslave my grandma.

I believe most people just want to live in peace and live their lives freely without unnecessary interference, pursue their happiness, watch their children grow if they have them. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Sounds familiar? Maybe it’s an American thing.

So on the basic level sure we agree I wish no harm on anyone who doesn’t cause harm. I don’t believe in any Utopia because that involves someone defining what that is. I don’t accept generational guilt or compelled speech. I am proud of who I am and who I am from and expect that everyone should be. The leftist self flagellant apologists are repulsive.

We should have social programs to help the down on their luck and aged but not provide a way of life. Immigration must be controlled and immigrants need to assimilate or not come.

We need to strengthen the corporate oversight and limit monopolies without overburdening the ability to conduct business, prosecute market manipulation etc. but Capitalism is the single greatest producer of wealth in the history of man. Even the communist have to incorporate aspects of it. The question becomes one of how much taxes for how many services.

The more the government provides the more they control. That’s anathema to freedom. I don’t believe socialized medicine is all that great. It has many of its own Triage horror stories. Our system isn’t perfect either we have more burden to pay but likely pay less in taxes. So pay Peter or pay Paul.

I have seen leftist Democrat policies cause the decline of my state and its cities. Our Schools were number 1 when I went to school now we are 46th. Real life consequences of poor leadership by elected officials.

I don’t care what Europeans think about America and don’t expect them to understand us. You sarcastically say enjoy our freedom, I say enjoy your slavery. Brits go to jail for flying their flag or complaining about criminal migrants. Muslims aren’t scary their ideology is incompatible with western values. Women should not be raped because they aren’t Muslim. Their religion gives laws to live by. Those laws are in direct dispute with western law.

Right wing policies: reducing costs and unneeded regulations. Disincentivising government assistance for those that don't truly need it. Reducing taxes so that the economy can grow. Finding other ways to fund the government (like tarrifs and penalties).

My personal policy I'd like to see implemented: swap social security so its not paid out of current payments and instead people pay into whatever retirement fund they want like Roth IRA or 401k. You would still have the money taken out by the government from your paycheck but you would be given the choice of which retirement fund it goes to.
We could cover the gap from tarrifs.

I think disabled people and those who can't work should be protected. I also don't want homelessness to be a thing in rich countries. Also, I believe in free universal health care. Yes, I'm a commie, but that's literally 100% normal in Europe. Take notes, USA. And it's not like Europe is communist or something. Far from it.
