Yes, we still grow and raise much of our food, we give away a ton too. Yesterday alone, I helped a family whose SNAP was cut off, just because someone overheard a child talking about they hadn't eaten because they were out of food.
We fed them, filled up their car, gave um some cash. and it is not just food, we have a team to repair, build whatever people need. We work with area churches, the goal is nothing wasted, everyone helps.
As far as the illegals go, very few farm families use illegals, migrants come and go especially on the bigger generational farms. Migrant families and farm families are connected some have generational connections and are really just huge families. The only illegal workers I have seen do construction.
The other thing that might shock you, no one that I know turns in illegal workers, what we do instead is get them started on the process. We help them with paperwork, ask them the interview questions, whatever we need do and get them legal if we can. Sometimes the only option is send them home and start over.
The illegals that want to assimilate are welcome, the bangers, criminals and parasites, yeah, I would turn them in.
So that way a long way to say, no government money is needed, no socialism, we got this. There is a big difference between the makers and the takers.
