Death cult? Are you talking about Islam or Christianity? Because only one of those worships the death of a man. Only religion in the world that does. The body and the blood of. They were persecuted by Romans for four centuries for this very reason. The Romans claimed they were cannibals who sacrificed people so they can consume them as a representation of their dead God hanging from a Roman cross.
Who worships somebody dying on a cross, you may ask? Only one religion on this planet worships the death of a man. One. And that's all it's about. You do something bad, you do 10 Hail Marys, and when you die, you go in the clouds and hang out with all the other dead people.
All other religions are about a way of living. Christianity is about death.
In fact that is the fear of Islam, the threat, the worry. When you hear of people who converted to Islam on their own because they wanted to, not because of marriage, they say it's because it gave their life structure, a strict moral code, a way of life. With Christianity, people do what they want, maybe go to church on Sunday, throw in some pocket change in the basket, and that's it. That's the extent of their so-called religious life. One hour on a Sunday trying not to pass out from sheer boredom.
I once paged through that book looking for two quotes. I couldn't find them but I did find the book to be somewhat scary. It's not a pile of cute stories about this King slew that and then this person got smoted and then the people all got killed and the donkeys too and then they killed the children all in the name of Yahweh. It was one long lecture on how to live. Do this, do that, don't do that and when you do this do it this way. It's a guidebook for living. That's the appeal to people who convert. No fluffy fairy tales, just do the point what the deal is.
