Systemic racism results in a lot of Black men being incarcerated, out of proportion to real levels of criminality, and in generational wealth differences that have put higher stresses on families of color. Practices of redlining, meanwhile, have meant that more Black children get siloed into underresourced schools. The differences in how Black children are raised and how their lives turn out come from complex and unfair roots in society, and you're pointing to two data points to claim a purely causal relationship.

What you're describing is a correlation that exists because of the structural inequity in our system. If you despise "surface thinker"s, don't be one: look into the deeper history; consider how correlated data points may be affected by a common third factor.

Illiteracy is not defined by color. Poor reading skills in children of all races can be the result of:

1. Mothers who don't care OR don't have time to read to their children (due to working outside of the home).

2. Poor school systems where teachers are not teaching basic reading, writing, and arithmetic. These schools place emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion & not the 3 R's.

Poor school systems are poor because they're poor. Lack of funding seems to have the intended effect. That's why when you go to more affluent neighborhoods, you see better schools, the end product a lot better than it is in schools short on funding.

You kind of got something in reverse. The Eloi were the descendants of the upper classes, the rich, with not a care in the world, and the Morlocks were descended from the workers who ended up working underground, out of sight from their rich masters above.

well the resources are supposed to help the students, of course with food and things like counseling and keeping the different things open that help the students. The money is spent on they, 18K is a ton of money for a year of grade school, even Highschool.. cost of books is what..500..maybe? odds and ends..another 1000?, the point is, if the people don't value learning and don't go to school they will not succeed no matter how much money is spent.

Remember that because of the frankly racist laws that strictly limited Asian immigration, the population of Asian immigrants and their children was quite small in the US for decades, while the US, from the days of the end of slavery (Happy Juneteeth, again!) had a large population of Black citizens, particularly in the parts of the country where they had been most done wrong. So a broad system of suppression -- of oppression -- was maintained against them. Jim Crow. Red-lining.
