You're not 'assigned' anything at birth. You are documented based on what is or isn't between your legs. Really pretty simple, been doing it for 1000's of years now.

If you wish to be called a dude and you were born a girl, go for it
And vice versa.

That’s what a lot of these people don’t understand. You can’t “make” someone be LGBTQ. Teaching kids about this stuff isn’t going to magically make them attracted to the opposite gender or want to change their gender. None of this affects anybody, yet people still want make everyone’s choices for them.
