I never understood the blackface nonsense. I can see why the blackface of the early 20th century was offensive. But why would it be now? But in the 80's when Eddie Murphy was on SNL he did a skit where he wore whiteface. White people thought it was funny. Then there was the movie White Chicks, which tried to be funny. Still white people were not outraged.
It seems that Robert Downey Jr is the only white guy who can get away with it when he wore blackface in the movie "Tropic Thunder".
If white people think it is funny when blacks wear whiteface then why can't blacks laugh when whites wear blackface. Or for that matter, if an Asian wore blackface or any other race. Or if any other race tried to look like white people. Who cares???
