I think that this phenomenon is why authoritarian government can rise to dominate people in the first place. It seems that the majority of people simply want to be told what to do, say, or think. For some reason being totally controlled comforts them. Essentially those types are terrified of freedom . . . because freedom also includes the freedom to fail and suffer consequences.
Yes. It's amazing what people conditioned to obey will do . . . when they shouldn't. The thing is that people used to have alternatives to the Rule of Authority that could provide them some exterior or interior guidance. You had religion that told people what was Right and what was Wrong. You had the Declaration of Independence that laid out ideals. You had the Constitution that laid out the foundation of the Rule of Law.
Nowadays kids just get leftists yammering at them all the damn time about rainbow this and Marxist run BLM that and pointed toward perversion as the societal norm and ultimate goal . . . because the Left has made damn sure that religion and the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are either systematically discredited or mistaught.
I think about that a lot, how on some level you can't really blame the kids for how screwed up they are. Especially from the universities.
