THEY DFON'T CARE because all leftists are convinced that any backlash from their collective idiocy will always strike someone else and also because it's all about the endless virtue-signaling with them.
Interesting enough neither was Sodom and Gomorrah, Babylon, Ancient Egypt, Greece and Israel, Rome, and quite a few other countries and kingdoms that no longer exist. Even the Christian churches tend to be like that from time to time.
How would they buy up our houses if they hiked across the border? Doesn't sound like they could afford it any more than us, unless they're somehow taking our jobs. Oh.
Yes, Americans are lining right up. Should they pick those fruits & veggies? Or just toil away working in the meat processing plants? All that minimum wage can purchase a lot of housing.
Just ask any of those migrant's, working there today.
The median home price is $430K. If these immigrants are buying up the houses, that means they're crossing the boarder with half a mill in cash in their pockets.
At 18,000 a day, that's $9 billion flowing into this country for free.
Literally, we're doing nothing and they're knocking down the walls to get in here with their money.
We should be rolling out the red carpet for these money bags.
How? Im not certain. But I would suggest you watch the film called "easy money."
Its pretty interesting, and good to watch as you go through some sort of Econ class. But basically, loans these days have been made to near 0 APR (no longer of course). But there's been some serious provision for these immigrants as of late...I wouldn't be surprised if there's been some meddling there.
I think that's a false dichotomy based on ignorance. I don't blame you though, I don't know about this anymore than thee next guy. But I think there needs to be some serious investigation into how this might be happening, rather than "it doesn't seem like it WOULD happen."
Basic critical thinking will show you that immigration is not driving the price of housing or inflation.
To get a house loan you have to have a job. A job where you get paid enough to afford the monthly and afford all the other things in life like utilities and food.
No amount of "meddling" is going to change basic fundamentals.
You need a job to get a bank loan. A job that pays you enough to afford the monthly bill on a 400K house.
Immigration is not driving inflation or the housing bubble.
Believe it or not illegals actually can get a home/mortgage but the APR "meddling" from banks seems to actually be the opposite idea of what that person was floating.
If undocumented workers get an ITIN (individual tax ID number) they can try to buy a house.. but..... they actually have to pay a higher APR. A marketplace.org article from 2017 said their APR was nearly double what the rest of us pay in a 30 yr fixed mortgage. So it kind of sounds like the "meddling" is not so much of a privilege as it is exploitation. Not exactly a surprise considering complaining might risk them getting deported.
That being said.... that ability doesn't necessarily mean immigrants are buying up all the housing, causing a shortage and inflation. A large amount of them are probably the ones actually building the houses.
