you would be stone cold sober for a very long time.
Even if you assume that 81 million ppl did vote for Biden- that’s only 25% of Americans. A Democracy requires over 50%. They keep saying that word but it’s not what it means.
Originally the only 'direct voting via democracy' the people did was for House members. Otherwise it was Electoral College(President), President/Senate(Supreme Court), and State Legislators(Senate). However the Senate was changed to direct voting. The Founders tried to avoid direct voting as much as possible. We can easily see today how 'majority/direct voting' can be the worst thing possible because of how many cities are like.

The way it was supposed to work was that in the community you the community you would elect the best people to office because you knew them.
They in turn would make up the legislature of the state.
They would compose the electors.
The state legislatures and the governor would appoint the US senators. Again putting in the best men they knew.
All of these men who knew the best of them would nominate the man for the presidency.
The people would elect their US representatives from their communities.
That is a bit chopped up, comma but as close as I can come to explaining it.
We were supposed to be electing people that we knew could handle the job. Now it's just a big popularity contest, whoever has the most money and can put on the biggest show wins.
About community. Most of these large metropolitans have a big enough of a population to be considered their own state or even a small country. Time to break most of those up for a whole lot of reasons.

It is amazing (maybe not) how few know the truth of this post.
Electoral College:
Each elector would nominate the man that they believed was the best to be president.
The man with the most votes was President, second was vice president, regardless of party affiliation.
