But he hasn't spent it. It doesn't mean anything if he doesn't actually do anything. I may as well tell Twitter I'll buy them for $44billion myself, it would have just as much impact.

You "could". And yes it would be ineffective. Because you don't actually have e the $44B.
Do you honestly think we would ever have found out that half the accounts following Biden, Foxnews, CNN, etc. are actually bots and not real people if he hadn't mad Ethan bid and started an audit of accounts? See, that's where him actually having the means to buy Twitter has had a real effect, where your offer would have been just a puff of hot air.

It's not that I don't have the $44 billion, it's that I'm willing to spend just as much on Twitter as Elon Musk is. Which is to say zero.

It was really Twitter's own fault for taking him seriously to begin with because, as we can all see now, he wasn't serious. At all.

Musk plays a different game than other people play. It's possible his goal was simply just to expose Twitter's bot network.
I'm happy to see the curtain pulled back on Twitter. I'd be happier to see them answer to the SEC for misleading investors about how many subscribers they actually have.

No, the Emperor DOESN'T have any new clothes. Telling me that I'm just not smart enough to see the threads isn't going to work - the Emperor is buck naked.

Elon Musk was running his mouth on Twitter and now he's trying to back out of it because he was never serious in the first place. There's no higher game than that - it's that basic.

No one mentioned your intelligence until you brought it up. Is that what you need? You are super smart. Feel better?

LMFAO

You're on the Internet right now. Search for "the Emperor's New Clothes". It's a common folk story about why you're completely wrong.

No, really, it is.

OK. But it's still a very common reference that you completely missed.

I didn't miss a thing. I know the story. You're refusing to see any point besides your own. Thats fine. You can do that. . But I'm done. Have a great day

Ok. You still missed the reference though. If you knew the story you'd know what I was talking about and you didn't.

Nope, but he's forcing Twitter to reveal all kinds of stuff like the 50% bots.

Read between the lines any?
He's 'forcing' himself to not buy Twitter because he was gonna end up losing a heaping ton of cash on it, plus everything else he had as his 15 came to a belated end. Was gonna be hard to break even, let alone turn a profit, which would in turn causes it to lose value and before you know it, math rears its ugly head and investors ditch it. Plus that personally overseeing the search for bots bit was gonna be a tad more time consuming than he anticipated. Investing that much in what could become a toxic asset overnight is not how he got rich.

Yeah, twitter is too big to fail. Managed correctly, Musk could double his money.
0 ups, 3y
Yeah, AOL or Yahoo anyone? How's that Instagram going lately? Facebook is now Meta, let's see that slow its downwhirl spiral,,,

They're all passing fads, and Tweetering will be as big a joke as the rest of them in a few years. In fact, ironically, Elon may have accelerated its eventual demise, something I doubt he's unaware of.

Huh, that's why he's owner of the company. :l

He only just put in an offer as they negotiate. He won't have any control for awhile.

Thanks for the links btw

LOL

“I strongly believe that the right to bear arms is an important safeguard against potential tyranny of government. Historically, maintaining their power over the people is why those in power did not allow public ownership of guns,” Musk told CNBC on May 25.

Yeah, he was talking about (from the second link) "To be more precise, I mean any semi-automatic gun with supersonic ammo and a large magazine."

He doesn't even know how guns work. Every gun can shoot a supersonic round, because rounds that are supersonic, go faster than the speed of sound. You can either modify your gun, or buy rounds with enough powder in cylinder to shoot "supersonic."

Virginia Tech shooting was done with pistols and lots of standard mags. Columbine was hunting rifles, shotguns, and a rifle that shot pistol ammo.

You’re welcome. Still he’s still strict on gun control.

Still, if this is the new face of conservatives, picking clean former liberals like Musk and Trump who would restrict gun access at the drop of a tragedy, maybe conservatives ought to rethink whom they support. Or what they stand for.

He doesn't seem to be, actually.

"strongly believe that the right of to bear arms is an important safeguard..." you know the rest.
