Allow teachers to conceal carry. Send them to be trained in firearm safety.
Most importantly, rather that telling teachers to get all the children huddled in a corner while the teacher acts like a human shield, tell them and the students to stay where they are and make sure each child has something hard to throw. When the shooter enters the classroom the kids will be all over the place and hell get pelted by everything the kids can find. That shooter will not stay in that classroom much longer.
