Laughing Leonardo DeCaprio Django Darwin | End Reedy Creek? Disney wont be paying more taxes,
the rest of Florida will! | image tagged in laughing leonardo decaprio django darwin | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
https://www.wftv.com/news/local/end-reedy-creek-disney-wont-pay-more-taxes-you-will/3TK6ASNJT5EXHICW3DQ3ZHEZYA/

3 hrs sleep yesterday AND today (which technically is already yesterday), so my "No links policy" will have to take a rest on this special occasion.

But basically, Disney pays taxes to itself so it can do that municiple maintainance and whatever other costs thingies for Reedy Creek that normally everyone in the county would be doing collectively (give or take, hurr hurr). Something like that.
End that lil' situ, and costs don't go away, so guess who's going have to pay it now, muh mofugguhs?
HINT: Rhymes with "Not Disney anymore"

Clearly DerpSantis didn't think this through.
Just kidding, he did, but his base won't, and it's the thought that counts, or lack of, therein, suggus!

scuse muh typos I am running on fumes,,,

No, you’ve been wrong so many times you can’t be a source of facts or reality.

Gosh, there wasn't even enough Bernie Sanders voters to beat Kamala in the primaries. Maybe if they could throw in all the votes that Elizabeth 'Gray Beaver' Warren got too?

Well if Disney would have stayed in their lane. They still would be getting away with not paying their fair share, but they had to insist on grooming lil children. Besides, you should be happy that a trillion dollar corp is going to be paying their fair share, but as usual, you libs are never late for the hypocrisy train.

And how is it Right Wing Nut Job social agenda, to be against grooming little children? You people are totally out of touch with reality.
1 up, 2y
You know how I know the “grooming kids” thing is bullshit? You don’t respond to that by taking away special self-governing privileges. You respond to that by calling in the attorney general and conducting a sweeping criminal and business practices investigation.

If Ron DeSantis really believed in this “groomer” crap and wanted to protect kids, that’s what he’d do. Instead he’s settling for some financial retaliation commensurate with Disney’s decision to publicly condemn the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and divorce itself from filling the Florida GOP’s coffers with campaign contributions.

And I know that DeSantis and the GOP don’t really care about taxing corporations generally, or they’d be doing this for all big corporations. If it’s a step toward the GOP finally getting a grip on how trickle-down theory and Reaganomics don’t work for average folks in this economy, I welcome it, but I’m not holding my breath.

Regardless of the reason, the church should most definitely not have tax exempt status. I don’t think you’ll get much of an argument from conservatives about that.

Sidenote: those gay church pedophiles you describe are almost always liberals.

............we absolutely do get a LOT of arguments from conservatives over that. It's kind of a major cornerstone of Republican policy, actually.

Ok. So why do Protestant churches always lobby to defeat legislation that would tax them?

What about them? I thought this was about holding child groomers accountable by revoking tax privileges. Doesn't get much more grievous than church abuses 🤷🏻‍♀️

OK, but if you catch the church in some child grooming and make them lose their tax exemptions over that, you'll really own the libs.

Everyone should lobby to defeat legislation that would tax them. I for one, want to keep more of my hard earned money!

It has to do with separation of church and state and entanglements interfering one with the other. Religion haters would love to tax them, but the Supreme Court has upheld state statutes exempting them from taxes repeatedly. It has also struck down cases that went to far and promoted religion by the state. It’s a fair system and just because you hate religion doesn’t seem to be a good enough reason to change it.

That wall is already in place. Benevolent neutrality towards religion has been in place forever. Your atheistic militant hatred isn’t a good enough reason to change it.

The separation only means the church should not direct government nor the government direct secular matters. Benevolence to religion and it’s stabilizing effect to society does not violate church and state separation as long as it recognizes all religious beliefs.

Exactly how does the phrase quoted infer interfering with religious beliefs? It doesn’t, your hatred of religion is what needs to change. Let people enjoy their faith, no one’s forcing you to be part of it.

So where did Jesus say the church must be taxed by the Romans?

Lol Matthew was a tax collector before his “conversion” and he was hated.

America was founded by people fleeing religious wars and persecution by the governments they controlled. They didn’t want to eradicate god, they wanted that left for each man to decide without government interference. Not taxing religion is neither a positive or a negative. It is a neutral.

The point Red Herring is Jesus didn’t say the church must pay taxes. He said individuals should surrender unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s. Individual church members do pay taxes so what’s your point.

Churches don’t pay taxes because they are non profits. What tax are you going to require from the local street Corner church? WhT if they have no profit? Will they get Welfare if they don’t? So your for subsidizing them if they don’t make money?

I asked a hypothetical question trigger. If you tax churches but they have no profit what tax is collected? Do they qualify for rental assistance? Welfare? Food stamps?

So you’re problem is with all non profit organizations, not just churches? The government should tax them because it has debt? How about not giving up billions for student loan forgiveness.

You're focused on televangelists and I’m talking about the local Church. I don’t know where you experience extravagant
Lifestyles of the meme era of the street corner church. I don’t see it. Don’t act as if all churches are corrupt.
