The current price may have barely beat out 2008's prices in 2022 dollars but adjusted for inflation the 2008 prices were higher. The barrel is about $104 (at the time I type this) and the oil companies are making record profits. while we sit on record oil production and 9000+ unused permits.

We are producing record amounts of oil and the oil companies are sitting on 9000+ unused permits to drill and get more oil out of the ground. They can actually be pumping more oil out of the wells that are inactive. What they want to do is to make as much profit as they can to recoup the losses from when demand dropped during lockdowns and caused record low prices. Now they are limiting production while the demand is high and recording record profits. It’s the free market. Welcome to capitalism.

Trump wanted to get us out of NATO weakening NATO. Putin loved that and waited. Once that wasn’t going to happen (Trump losing) he moved on Ukraine like a bitch. Plain and simple.

Pipeline? The keystone pipeline wasn’t ever a thing for it to be “cut off” and it wasn’t the USAs pipeline. It was a Canadian pipeline that was going to move low grade Canadian oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. We got nothing out of the deal. We were a shortcut. Nothing more.

Not sure why or how Hunter Biden plays into anything. But by that logic it would be in Biden’s personal interest to help Ukraine.

I think it's more about comparing the affordability of the fuel. Under Trump fuel was so cheap you could fill the tank up on 3 star destroyers. Under Biden - you have to take the bus and be worried about getting mugged by criminal Democrats.
