The climate changes on local and global levels as a natural life cycle of the planet. We aren't speeding crap up with our footprint.

There's literally nothing you can do to stop it from melting, that's literally all Ice does. It wasn't here in the beginning, it was never meant to last forever, gonna have to deal with that.
But no need to stress over it, it's gonna be here for a long time, it'll still be melting long after you're dead.

Al Gore was saying that back when he ran in 2000. He was super serious about we only had 8-10 years before the ice caps would melt and the east coast would be flooded. Here we are 22 years later - and it's the same story.

You've been duped, backstabbed and quite possibly bamboozled
2 ups, 3y
people really do overreacted about it though. For one all you see is the tip of the iceberg it's ten times bigger underneath, and secondly nobody ever takes it to account that icebergs actually grow too. People lose they're shit when they melt a little bit, but never report on their growth.

10 Reasons To Prove That Climate Change is a Hoax. It was Al Gore he began the fuss over climate change and global warming a few years ago. In 2014, it was predicted that we would start to see some of the effects of the wagon. Some said that it would be the hottest year that we have ever had, but the fact of the matter is, it was not.

THE ONE MEME!!!

PACK IT UP, BOYS, GALS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN AND BEYOND, THE MASTER ARGUMENT HAS BEEN DROPPED

Also, a handful of companies accounts for half the greenhouse gas emissions, meaning that actual leftists, not the "one meme strawman", will tell you that tho getting a bike it's nice, even if everybody did, it wont do all that much.

Except that if we all use a bike and/or public transportation, those companes will have less customers.

I mean, didn't you guys like it when the market regulates itself? then how about we end with fossil fuel subsidies, and subsidize greener companies? you know, spend that money somewhere else?

Is anyone in here mentally older than 12?

We can barely keep the energy grid going now with as much electricity we use - moving to solutions outside of gas (solar panels, wind turbines, hydro-electric and nuclear power plants) has already proven to lead to brown outs and black outs - weather gets too cloudy or too cold and people then suffer without electricity. Then let's not forget the nuclear waste that builds up with no real way to make it safe.

Good luck with your electric Tesla or Electrified Mustang when the power grid blacks out due to being over encumbered.

Also - if it were a pyramid scheme, there wouldn't be so many successful businesses and business owners in the United States. Pyramid schemes are designed on only make money for the top three agents.

Were the US government a pyramid scheme, there wouldn't be opportunity abundant like there is today. I'm walking talking proof of that - son of a Trash Man and an exotic dancer, lived my entire childhood on welfare, and made my own way to a 22 year career at one of the top 10 companies to work for in the world.

I would still be on welfare if it were a pyramid scheme.

I said the country is a pyramid scheme, not that every company in it was, a pyramid scheme, the same way that in a pyramid scheme, not everybody has a sucker to fool into recruiting other suckers.

Abundant opportunity? Don't make me laugh, the US is one of the countries with the worst upward mobility rates in the first world

You know what country scores just one spot bellow yours? exactly, mine, a small country that is still recovering from a civil war, and a 40 years long fascist dictatorship of the National Catholic variety, and one of the "poorest" nations of the European Union.

You're barely faring better than the S in the PIGS.

wake and grow up, you're living in an alternate reality, a vacuum of either privilege, or doomer despair that blinds you from the actual reasons behind your lack of material prosperity, step out of your safe space and check reality outside your neat little bubble.
1 up, 3y
No, I'm living in a land of opportunity. I could have been a millionaire if I wanted, would have just had to do the work for it. I didn't want to go that high up the flagpole and have the opportunity to live how and what I've wanted to.

The only real bump in the road to success in the United States is the individual choosing not to go higher.

The climate is always changing.

Anthropogenic climate change is a hoax, created to bilk people of their hard-earned money to make liars rich. Not unlike the mask mandates that those imposing the mandates did not follow, so too, the false prophets of climate change do not appear to be overly concerned about their own dire predictions.

How much blatant hypocrisy do the "experts" have to display before you finally get it?

We were told 3 years ago by none other than THE preeminent Climate Expert, AOC, that we only had 12 years left before it was all just too late. You would think that at 25% of the way in, we would already see parts of every coastline underwater, and no record cold temperatures anywhere on the planet. But alas, it is not so.

EVERY prediction these morons have made has failed to transpire, and yet you continue to buy what they are selling.

No, we are right on track. Just look at the extreme weather events that are happening. Plus, it's called climate change since for now, the winters in areas that have them are shorter but more extreme. In 2 months here in Ottawa, we got as much snow as we used to get in 4 months, but the temperatures were either very mild or very cold.
2 ups, 3y
Ohio was just fine.
1 up, 3y
You've been lied to- the weather is not more extreme, especially when compared with the distant past, say the last 100-200 years, though from what can be discerned, weather was even worse before true records were kept.

I recommend checking out the other side, as it were.

Yes, but humans have exasperated it, due to CO2 emissions we have made it much worth. We should be in a mild ice age right now, yet we're not. I wonder why? Oh, that's right, CO2 emissions caused by humans.
1 up, 3y
The word is "exacerbated." Which we're still not doing.
1 up, 3y
Yes same humans that did the CO2 in Venus, too bad Earth has a much denser substance than CO2 which will render Earth a much less inhabitable place than Venus when it heats up, and that is H2O. The big damage humans have done that I can agree with is deforestation which in return the Earth is not as oxigen rich. But deforestation could have easely come from a massive volcanoe or meteor. CO2 is bullshit propaganda to scare people. Just to prove how invalid your argument is, a single massive volcanoe or meteor can cause more climate change in one day than himans in a milenia. Yet you do not believe in God.

Why do you not support environmentalism? We have nothing to lose.
2 ups, 3y
I do not support environmentalist because they do not do a single thing but spread fear and they are scam artists. Instead i do my own part as everyone should. I plant fruit and vegetable trees, recycle, reuse, repurpose, and compost and during rainy days I rescue suicidal worms from the sidewalk. I will be impressed if you do any of that, you probably just throw money away to environmentalists so that you can feel better while sitting on your couch eating chips.
