Sadly those days of real farmers are long gone
"OWNS THREE ORCHARDS AND FARMS
AND 500 ACRES OF LAND, LET'S ILLEGAL ALIENS FOR A DECENT WAGE PICK HIS HARVEST AND TEND TO HIS LIVESTOCK AND LIVE ON HIS LAND BECAUSE IDIOTS ARE TO BUSY MAKING RIDICULOUS MEMES ABOUT STEREOTYPES OF REDNECKS TO UNDERSTAND HOW STUFF REALLY WORKS"
OWNS THREE ORCHARDS AND FARMS
AND 500 ACRES OF LAND.* LETS* ILLEGAL ALIENS, FOR A DECENT WAGE,* PICK HIS HARVEST AND TEND TO HIS LIVESTOCK AND LIVE ON HIS LAND BECAUSE IDIOTS ARE TOO* BUSY MAKING RIDICULOUS MEMES ABOUT STEREOTYPES OF REDNECKS TO UNDERSTAND HOW STUFF REALLY WORKS
Oh, the irony,,,
Illegal aliens work for a lot LESS than minimum wage, and have to pay to live in rat infested dirty trailers and for food at a rate which often exceeds what they get paid, leaving them in perpetual debt to their illegal employers, in effect a form of [il]legal slavery. Even their underage pre-teen chidren are illegally forced to work, and all this while getting sprayed with toxic chemicals because what's a little Roundup to breath in deep on a daily basis all summer, eh?
Meanwhile, the farmer's own kids are too busy eating Hot Pockets and playing Xbox all day (and night) to take part - even when adults, well into their late 20s and never having worked a day in their life - so the trend in recent decades has been to sell the farms to corporate farms or real estate because Jr can't be bothered taking over when working in an airconditioned cubicle is so much better than getting out in the sun.
All this while subsidized by taxpayers because of the Dust Bowl in the 1930s (um, wasn't that like so NINE DECADES AGO?) at such exorbitant amounts that it is cheaper to grow sugar cane in Florida with masssive irrigation and fertilizer to accelerate growth to harvest before it gets too cold or grow corn and have factories chemically and electrically convert it into artificial sugar that is bad for you than it is to simply stick canes in the ground in Puerto Rico and wait for harvest time because the USA dismantled most of that economy to keep them tethered to us.
It is somehow cheaper to buy and feed cows grain which irritates their stomachs so they must be then be given antibiotics to combat ulcerating infections than it is to simply allow them to eat grass outside in that 500 acres for free. Let that chunk of gov't waste Socialism thrown at farming sink in.
How's that for how the corrupt money bleeding farming industry works?
