Well, that's possible, but it requires some leaps for which there is no direct evidence. How do you know they are pretending? There's nothing in what the OP said that suggests they are. The other party's rejection is not considered in the scenario given. Given the opportunity, would you or would you not? There is also no evidence that any of the responders are in fact celibate. But certainly, yours is a possible interpretation.

Seeing someone waiting under mistletoe does not specify who they want to be kissed by. So the idea that the women are "coaxing" the OP is unfounded. His refusal to kiss them is not an indication of his celibacy. This is boring.
