your honor, i fear you may be overlooking important details. the fact is, the defendant has irresponsibility put his family in charge of self-defense. Unfortunately, if no one in this courtroom has picked it up already, and is quite clear from the forensics, and the gunshots heard by bystanders, the daughter was handed one of the weapons and accidentally turned the gun on her mother not knowing when not to use it, before turning the gun on herself. forensics also revealed that the defendant's wife was attempting to wield a tray of bread while handling the two weapons. on account of the defendant overlooking the possibilities of misuse of the weapons in his possessions; if this isn't negligence, i don't know what is.
