It’s stupid what our country has come to. No mask=arrest. What happened to “land of the free”?

She was released without bail as soon as she got to the police station. She was asked to leave and refused. She was told she would be arrested and stayed anyway and recorded her own arrest. She wanted to be arrested for the publicity it has brought - its a traditional civil rights and non-violent protest tactic.

He was supposedly released on a $75,000 bond and placed under house arrest with a tracking ankle monitor. As to why he was released, talk to the judge.

"Simpkins was released on bond Thursday morning on several conditions: drug and alcohol testing, GPS monitoring and 24-hour home confinement, according to orders from Tarrant County Magistrate Judge Brooke Panuthos."

1st: Mask Don't work.
2nd: Nobody has the right to force you to wear a mask.
3rd: Standing for your rights isn't a bad thing.

1st: Go to the Authorities
2nd: Don't plan to premeditatedly kill people with a gun anywhere, that's not self defense and you trying to shrug it off to "well he's wearing a ankle bracelet" and it's funny you went from being extremely confident with her situation to "he supposedly" real quick. What, No supposedly for her just "She wanted to be arrested for the publicity it has brought" you mighty sure for just the next sentence to start out "He supposedly" and What no sympathy for the most likely other black people he attempted to murder then? you gotta defend the school shooter? Forget those other people's kids and that teachers wife or husband, and what if one of them where homosexual? not a tear to be shed? So your sympathy is just the shooter? Tell me all the other 18 year old school shooters who attempted to murder 4 people and were released that quickly and then threw a party to celebrate......
Because this right here just shows your a racist of low expectations.

I'm not defending the shooter. I truly have no idea why the judge let him out on bail, but the meme made it sound like he was just released with no strings - key details were omitted (bail, drug tests, ankle tracker). I wouldn't and don't want him out on bail. I don't know why the judge decided to do so, or why that bail amount was what it was. As far as partying afterwards...if he's not in jail and it doesn't violate the terms of his bond, he has the freedom to do so. Its in poor taste that his family would allow it, but I also don't know whether it was an actual party or just a family gathering. And honestly, I don't care. The party is an irrelevant detail.

I used supposedly for the amount because I read 25,000 in one article and all the others said 75,000. I could have looked up the actual court docs I suppose...

You also didn't say that Grace was released and never spent time in jail.

There is no right to not wear a mask any more than there is a right to walk around naked in public. If you want to protest on principle, you should do in the nude to demonstrate that nobody can tell you what to wear. I'm not suggesting a 16 year old girl come to school naked, but I'm sure she could come up with some creative way of violating her dress code without compromising her modesty.

Grace Smith actually issued statements afterwards in addition to her incident being on tape. So, yes, I'm more confident in what happened with her. She was given the option to leave and refused. She stayed and recorded her own arrest. I'm not judging her for doing it for publicity - she has identified something she considers injustice and getting it out there is what protesting is all about. She has collected over 100k to cover court costs, so I'm assuming she's doing all right in that regard. https://www.givesendgo.com/stand4grac

The science says masks don't stop the spread. You aren't arguing with us, you are arguing with science.
She was told to leave school grounds because they illegally tried to force her to use medical equipment that doesn't do anything. Only a doctor can force you to use medical equipment and only with a judge court order.

Whether you think they work is beside the point. Wearing a mask is the policy as passed by the school board. Illegal? As I was told many times in relation to BLM issues, comply and address your complaint in court. Which is what she is doing. So good for her.

Only a judge...medical equipment. Yeah... You saying it doesn't make it true. She wasn't being forced to use medical equipment - she was free to leave the school and had in fact been asked to do so. Schools have vaccine requirements, dress codes, can restrict people from bringing firearms, and all sorts of things. You don't have to agree with mandates, but grounding your argument in reality would be nice.

Nope, requiring medical equipment for a mandatory event like public school is illegal. In most states wearing masks in public is illegal. Look it up.

I'm glad you told me. With Halloween coming up, I'll be sure to let the kids know. /S

Many states have anti mask laws, true. But they vary. Some day it is a crime to wear a mask for the purposes of committing a crime. Some states have issues guidance that these laws are suspended during the pandemic, etc. But since the lady in question is from Wyoming - I don't see any anti mask legislation for Wyoming.

As far as it being illegal to force people to wear a mask - under what law?
