eyyy texas more like tax-us. banning abortion is like trying to ban coat hangers. and banning coat hangers is like trying to ban drugs or guns, or f**king straws

brace yourselves folks. coat hangers are next

i should mention that texas has a lot of war hawks in its congress alone, and that i also have this picture of a middle eastern baby's corpse that was blown up by the united states military. last time i posted that image, my comment got deleted like lightning because of imgflip's tos.

well, not EVERY beating heart.

Because if it was every beating heart, your attitudes toward universal healthcare would be radically different.

You just want to control women. Poor women, specifically.

Because the rich girls who get pregnant but don't want the baby will still go with their moms on a "shopping trip" to Denver to get an abortion.

But that wouldn't be historically accurate to what planned Parenthood did when they opened shop. Me pointing out PP's tactic is not racist. You ignoring what they did to paint me as racist... Is you white washing history, which actually is racist.

I'm bringing light to what PP did... You're trying to cover it up and ignore it - and make someone bringing light to it.... Seem like the person bringing race into it.

Had PP setup shop equally and without targeting "weeds" (african Americans) - I would not have brought it up.
1 up, 3y,

That’s still you bringing race into it.

No one is saying you can’t bring race into it.

It is foolish to be so defensive. Unless, of course, you very hypocritically have accused others for being racist for simply discussing race in a political or historical context. That was your own hole to dig, if you did.

I never instigated nor said you were a racist because of you brought race into it. Sure, some people may do that and you’ll just have to suck it up. Don’t take the bait. Keep on target of your argument and point.

If you can’t handle the responsibility of the simple fact that no one brought the topic of race into this conversation until you introduced it, then you’re being intellectually dishonest. And no one is going to bother listening to you if you can’t accept that.

if you're asking how i know prageru's funding...

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/prageru/

https://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/PragerU

if we're talking about universal healthcare costs

https://www.citizen.org/news/fact-check-medicare-for-all-would-save-the-u-s-trillions-public-option-would-leave-millions-uninsured-not-garner-savings/

our status quo costs 6 trillion a year. medicare for all will cost much less than that. while the afghanistan war cost 2 trillion over the best part of 20 years, we didn't win it and it was pointless in the first place; only benefiting corporations like lockheed martin. overall a f**kin' net loss compared to providing every citizen with cancer an affordable treatment.

american citizens also lead largely sedentary lifestyles due to car dependence. this is why healthcare is important, and why fixing our infrastructure is important

"Israel is our chief ally in the Middle East, so of course we would protect them."

eyyyy i nearly mentioned the USS liberty earlier so i'll mention it now. remember when japan invoked our involvement in a global war by blowing up a military base and some of our boats? i remember that. i'm not advocating for war here, but why didn't lyndon b johnson hold israel accountable for the USS liberty? i'm sure families of those whose lives were lost on the liberty absolutely loved that he didn't.

what a nice ally.

when japan picked us up and tried to take our lunch money, we did the global war equivalent of taking steroids and brining a bazooka to confront the school bully. but when israel did basically the same thing, we did the equivalent of being an extra in an episode of Barney & friends, and decided there was nothing wrong with Israel blowing up one of our boats or the people on it.

The Netherlands is the 67th most populated country in the world, and as of March 21, 2016, it has a population of 17,000,000. As of December 31, 2020 the Netherlands has a population of 17,474,677. Between 1900 and 1950 the population doubled from 5.1 to 10.2 million people.

So you're saying Universal Healthcare works for them. As a comparison... An estimated 59 million Americans receive welfare during an average month.

So it works in a place that has a total population that only equates to 1/3 of the welfare recipients in the US.... Now - you think that will work in place with 20 times the population, where 1/6 is already impoverished.

Can you get me in contact with your dude? Because you must be smoking something.

it especially works when the country hasn't spent trillions on a pointless conflict in the middle east

If they managed to screw that up, then what's to say they can't screw up "universal free healthcare"?

they probably will, especially since people like mitch mcconnell and nancy pelosi exist. we're doing a f**kin' terrible job of hiring good people

No they are doing a good job of passing down virtues to the new recruits. New people get in - get shown "the ropes" - then stop working for the people.

pity we let people with no morals in. face it: the electoral system we have that allows us to chose politicians is a complete scam.

Dude - yeah, I'm hella smart. Huge IQ, 21 year career in Information Technology, been following political stuff since I was 16 (43 now), and I'm a Democrat who tries to protect conservative values. I'm not one of the Lefties on here....

Like check my memes - all I do is poke fun at Democrats pretty much & occasionally poke fun at the Republicans

For-Profit healthcare is not healthcare.

It's gouging people for money at the lowest moment of their lives, when they're in pain and need help- that's nothing more than greed and avarice.

It's disingenuous to pretend that it isn't.

And the idea of universal government-paid healthcare is hardwired into the Constitution. IT's right there at the beginning. You should read it sometime.

Might help you.

The reasons some medical treatment gets so expensive is a finely layered onion that you are not equipped to discuss.

It is also not applicable to all medical treatments.

The reason is has become a complex, and even corrupt in some areas is -shocker- government intervention. Pouring in money. Determining who gets priority. Offering compensation and incentives.

Sure. Let's add in more. That'll be aces.

the average cost of visiting an ER is $2200. Not compare that to the average US family can't afford a $500 sudden expense.

All of a sudden access to healthcare isn't universal, is it?

It's a complex layer of escalating costs that you're not willing to discuss, Getty.

Even the cost of an urgent care visit gets outside of the family budget very quickly, especially when you add on the costs of medication.

For-Profit is exactly that- for a profit. And they are going to gouge you for it every step of the way.

That's why insulin costs so much inside the US but is a fraction of the cost outside the US.

Because your precious "invisible hand of the market" keeps it artificially inflated.

You are now conflating poor decisionmaking and bad planning with healthcare.

The inability for "the average family" to not absorb a sudden expense is no reason for a massive governmental takeover of an entire industry. I don't see anybody vouching for Nationalized Carcare, but the average transmission replacement is easily $5k.

It's a system I live in day to day and year to year between my own health and my wife's. It is mine to pay for. It is mine to plan around. It's mine to budget for and save up. And yours is yours.

If these are your debate points then you don't want healthcare. You just don't want to have to live within your means and adult responsibly and healthcare is the feel-good heartstring-tugging wrapper you dress it up in.

I'm not against it.

I'm also not for it. It works in some places and in other places doesn't. It depends on the population of the country.

Interesting fact: The founder of planned parenthood was a eugenicist white supremacist. The black population would be almost twice what it is now if it wasn’t for abortion.
