*you're - there, fixed that for you
No, I've already owned you with the fact that these numbers come from Biden's administration.
I do owe you a more detailed explanation than I could provide typing on my phone. Now that I'm on my computer I can go into detail where we disagree:
"Imagine for a moment that list is accurate 100%" - I don't have to "imagine" that the list is accurate 100%, the list comes from SIGAR, a U.S. Government Agency. GAO has similar numbers. Unless you provide alternate data from a credible source then score one for me.
"1. How much of this list is comprised of hardware that was sold to the Afganistan [sic] government. If it was sold to them it was no longer U.S Property" - So? The Afghanistan (see how that's spelled when spelled correctly?) government that the equipment MIGHT have been sold to is no more. The Taliban is the Afghanistan government and they didn't buy the equipment. Furthermore, at the end of the day the U.S. military has two missions - kill people and break things. We have every right to destroy what ever we want to prevent it from being used against us. A boot private in the Marine Corps is trained on how to use incendiary grenades. One each would have taken care of the vehicles, artillery pieces, and aircraft. They should have removed the bolts from the small arms and just smashed any electronic devices. OWNERSHIP OF THE EQUIPMENT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO BEARING ON THIS ARGUMENT. Score another one for me.
"2. How much of this list was left behind in factual working condition?" - See my entry above, I agree that it's OK to leave equipment if it cannot be used. All sources that I've seen, however, show that is not the case. Look at how many GI Abduls are carrying American made weapons, having upgraded from the AK-47. Again, unless you provide alternate data from a credible source then score one for me.
"3. Who among the Taliban and Afganistan [sic] people can be trusted to upkeep and retain spare parts for the items listed" - We had a saying in the Marine Corps regarding things like aircraft "It takes a college degree to fly it and a high school education to fix it". If I've got 33 Blackhawks then I've got 17 operational ones and 16 hangar queens for parts. Beyond that all you really need is duct tape and WD40. (continued)
