FEW people even knew Eskimo is supposedly a slur, even fewer use it intentionally as an insult. If I google Eskimo right now the top results are just saying they are the indigenous people of Canada, Alaska, and Greenland.

I do, but I’m curious how many of the very natives we call Eskimos are even offended by the term at all in 2021. Have you asked them or are you just making an assumption that they care? With baseball or football teams with Native Americans as their mascots, the name and logo was changed because of the overwhelming number of enraged white liberals, I never once heard an actual native get pissed off by it. Or the 👌 sign which is supposedly a sign of white supremacy but who gives a damn? The vast majority of people don’t think “white power” when they see it, so there’s no reason to ban it. Will Witt did a hilarious video where he dresses up in a mariachi outfit with a fake mustache for cinco de Mayo and asks people if his outfit is offensive. All the white people said yes, all the Mexicans said “no, you look good.” At some point it’s not worth rewriting terminology because you can dig up ancient offenses nobody knows and nobody even regards as an insult.
