I've never been to a McDonald's where they serve drinks in plastic cups. Then again, Europe is more advanced in many fields.

I never buy drinks. The soda syrup costs 2 cents, the CO2 gas costs 1/25 of a cent and the water costs them 1/150 of a cent. And for that, they want to charge me a dollar???

Depends, some plastic is biodegradable, made from rise or corn. But it's not strong enough to make straws however (too thin). Cup lids and noodles (package filling that is. DON'T TRY TO EAT THESE, BELIEVE ME!!...) and transparent plastics.
