If I actually felt it was a matter of agency I'd certainly have googled it. But if you post something online and don't feel like grounding it in actual data then you'd better be prepared for testy reactions.

Thanks for the links. I'll certainly read 'em thoroughly, though from the headlines it appears the ban is limited solely to Xinjiang (a long overdue measure, I might add), not all of China as you initially seemed to imply.

Sidenote: I can't remember the last time I watched Tucker and I certainly don't consider him a source of news. 👍

They’re banning trade from Xinjiang primarily due to the slave labor used there rather than for petty economic manipulation which violates the idea of a free market. Even Trump started to support this in his last days in office despite complaining about it and McConnell’s Republican lead Senate ignoring the bipartisan bill, proposed by Republicans! to do this two or three years ago.

It is only now gaining traction without McConnell’s reign over the Senate. It is very likely to pass the House and be signed by Biden. It is a win win, honestly.

And it’s great you don’t listen to Tucker. I wish our previous President didn’t. Maybe he would’ve got this done sooner rather than letting him play a fool’s errand with that tariff war which went nowhere and only ended up hurting our farmers! Even with the “entitlement” bailouts they got.
