If you make skin color part of your identity, people will incorporate it into their judgement of you. The left is so obsessed with race right now that they can't leave it out of any matter of judgement.

It doesn't mean we should ignore race-based problems and hope they go away; those should be confronted where they exist. It means that we should treat everyone as equals and judge only by merit whenever possible. Leading by example generates results.

Your point is well taken with one exception in that we should judge people by meritorious behavior but also by dishonorable behavior. That is judging by content of character. If we only look at the good and overlook dishonesty, thievery, violence and so on, we are not given a fair assessment of the overall person. Oops, hit the 'post' button by accident! 😀 Hadn't reviewed it yet but I will go on to say that I was raised by The Golden Rule and it is a shame more parents don't raise their kids that way today. To think that we are not 'equals' elevates one higher than he/she should be elevated. MLK had it right and I wish more people understood his message as I think it was inclusive for the races. Today, the radical nature of division places race relations in a precarious situation. We have come so far to go back many decades to a time very different than the present (and only to stir up division and hate thanks to Leftists).

The irony is that some folks preaching on and on about equality but have problems with those with different views, different beliefs and different opinions.
