in a few billion years when the sun explodes, if we don't have space travel we will be exterminated. and that's if we don't kill each other first. another war could happen, but this time everyone just nukes everyone else.

We either will die of stupidity or evolution

I don't know how but it will probably be because of humans.

Pollution. I don't mean climate change. I mean toxic substances killing off too much of the food chain for us to support ourselves. Also deforestation reducing the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere.

Too many potential causes for human extinction

Another giant rock from space, pole shift disrupting communications and throwing us back into dark ages, bioweapons, take your pick - all have the ability to wipe humanity off the face of the earth.

All there is is consciousness. We are in what the Hindus refer to as the Kali Yuga.
The universe exists and ceases to exist in different Yuga’s.
This one is a dark yuga for humanity, yet equally, because of darkness, light.

Religious beliefs aside, there could be infinitely possible outcomes of the extinction of humans let alone our entire planet.

Possibility #1 - Global Warming: I am not all that well informed of what specifically global warming has done to the planet and what it can do, but I know for a fact it's changing average climates dramatically and increasing temperatures to rising in places where it shouldn't. That may not sound bad, heck, the warmer temperature might even sound good but if you're including the pollution from anything burning fossil fuels, garbage waste, uncontrollable wildfires, and more in the time of almost a full century (if we are to assume current global warming started in early 19th century), I believe the warmer temperatures poisons the air we breathe, melts the ice caps in the polar regions at a greater quantity which result in higher ocean levels and the possibility of soil poisoning.

Possibility #2 - Viral Wipeout: Looking at what Covid alone has done to the whole world and how slow the majority of the world reacted and how some parts of it couldn't even react due to lack of resources just shows that if a virus or disease anywhere near stronger and deadlier in any means than the Coronavirus strains could possibly wipe out most if not all of humanity. That being said, as time goes on and technology advances, I personally think people get lazier and lazier as technology gets better and better, so even if our medicines are improving and our tests are getting more accurate, we as humans MUST do our part in keeping epidemics and pandemics at bay.

Possibility #3 - Celestial bombardment: Very little is really known about space. For all we know, a Star Wars classed Empire could be right over our heads preparing a planetary-surface bombardment to wipe us out. Though that is unlikely, I do think it is a small possibility an Asteroid or Meteor may enter Earth's atmosphere and have a chance of wiping out the planet. If you need a better explanation, just watch an asteroid movie lol (but seriously, read a NASA article about asteroid impacts). But, if something like that were to occur, Astronomers would have most likely spotted the asteroid and it's collision course towards Earth years if not decade maybe even centuries before we even see it in the night sky.

Possibility #4 - Nuclear War: As scary as it sounds, I personally think it won't happen. I feel like an asteroid impact is more likely than our own governments nuking one another. . . TBC

out of all of those i feel like nuclear war and global warming are the most probable but as millhouse said if that does not happen some home the sun will eventually explode

i meant to say somehow not some home

I feel like an asteroid impact is more likely than our own governments nuking one another. . . only with the hope to destroy one maybe two countries. Because if that were to happen, then almost every country that has access to nuclear bombs and relations with initial-effected nations will also send nukes to one another's direction. A good representation of this would a 1983 film called War Games; it demonstrates the actions of nuclear war and how even if you have more nukes than another nation, everyone loses. Think about it, if a nuclear war were to occur and everyone who wanted to attack one another just nuked one another, that wouldn't just initially kill us but the nuclear winter from all of the radiation would plummet temperatures and poison the soil. Look at the Fallout video game franchise to see what I'm talking about.

Possibility #5 - Other-worldly possibilities: What I mean by 'other-worldly possibilities' is humans advancing to space colonization. A good video to watch is a video by Kurzgesagt called Why Alien Life Would be our Doom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjtOGPJ0URM - - any video about Kurzgesagt shows how humans could possibly make ourselves extinct.

These are just my thoughts, of course, and I am not very knowledgeable so please talk all of this with a grain of salt.

But the plot of War Games is fairly accurate, one day we might let AI make the choices, and it might just set off that reaction.
