Teddy Roosevelt was indeed quite fond of the concept of truth and of the freedom of the press to tell it

A certain Orange Man preferred to label any critical coverage as “fake news” and indeed threatened libel suits against the NYT, etc.

This moron hated the media because he couldn't control them and he couldn't control what they said about him like he did with Hannity. I mean when you're such an egomaniac that you have to have a news anchor on speed dial so you can feed him stories in the middle of the night, you're going to be really aggravated at news writers who don't let you control the narrative.

But Trump is such a big baby with no diplomacy skills instead he decided to go to war with the media, thinking he could discredit them by calling it fake news, meanwhile spouting nothing but lies himself. Of course they're going to put the screws to him and call him out on everything he does wrong. Like his trade war with China: he just messed with the wrong people and it bit him in the ass.

He may have hated the media or CNN mostly, but he never tried to censor journalists. That’s something at least.

Except when he did.

In fact, when the White House suspended Acosta, Fox News actually denounced that act by the Trump administration. And that was when they were Trump’s number one news station.

Good gawd, KF, the arrogance of Teddy to refer to the president as him!!!

Does your cancel culture-ing, liberal ilk know about this?

If not, you better get onto the Tweeter machine and let them know, because this type of systematic sexism must be stopped... now!

But seriously, to act like Trump was just being petulant when in fact the media clearly had it out for him, only reinforces that you too, have been compromised by the biased media, and cannot be trusted as a source for an impartial point of view. Me too, probably. But at least I am aware of it.
0 ups, 3y,

No, I don’t think you are aware of your bias.

And if you are, then you’re willingly admitting that you only dismiss sources as biased for a personal agenda.
0 ups, 3y,
1 reply
LOL! Only in the utterly brainwashed mind of a snowflake, could a statement of self awareness regarding bias be twisted into "No, I don’t think you are aware of your bias."

THIS, is exactly why the average, ordinary working class or professional person who is most likely middle of the road (politically speaking) often finds the modern liberal to be a total fcuking idiot.
0 ups, 3y
So, you admit you use people's personal biases to dismiss their arguments.

Cool.

Congratulations, you just admitted you don't like having a discussion with people who just disagree with you.

What if both were true ??

What if....not everything Trump called fake news was actually fake? What if some of it were true?

What if the media lied shamelessly about Trump?

Holy shit, what a crisis! We'd have nothing to argue about - but I'm sure we find something.
1 up, 3y
I think you're making a perfectly valid suggestion.

Snowflakes won't buy it though, imo.

To them, all things Trump are always orangemanbad.

This quote could have easily been attributed to Greta Thunberg

But no, it was Teddy — the founder of our National Park system
0 ups, 3y
Yep, throughout history Republican presidents have done much more for the environment then Democratic ones, who have only promised to do things for the environment that they never did. Look at Nixon, too! He founded EPA!
0 ups, 3y
Wow, they say global warming is fake and the environment doesnt matter and they quote the founder of the national park system

I smelled bullsh*t right off the bat with that OP quote so you'll have to excuse me that there aren't exactly buckets of fake news quotes from the left to respond with.... I was aware of that fake trump one so I posted it.

That's the game here right...? Posting fake quotes?

“I can see Russia from my house”? Or are you too young to remember that one? Or are you so stupid you thought it was real?
0 ups, 3y
Had to Google it.. I haven't forgotten entirely about her but.... Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska 12 years ago, is somewhat obscure at this point.

I think that fake quote would be better suited in response to a fake quote from AOC... Perhaps I'll have the opportunity to try it out some day.

"TheChosan1"? ......
one account not enough for you huh? Lol

OP meme being false does not necessarily make it satire.

Again.. that was the only fake quote from the left I could think of. It happened to involve trump. If that is "obsessing" ok.

What fake quotes have I ever used besides the one here?

Y'all lost the election, the house, the lawsuits, the recounts, the Jan 6th insurrection, etc etc... It's been 4 months of straight losing for repubs so you go ahead and count this little discussion on a meme website as a "win" because I'm allegedly triggered ok? I'll give you a shiny participation medal.
:)

Why are they complaining if you used that quote falsely attributed to Trump simply to prove that a quote isn't necessarily true when it's associated with someone? I don't see the problem.
0 ups, 3y
I knew going into this that many people would not see what I did there. So I kind of expected some degree of complaints.

...especially from Chosanwan and apparently now also "TheChosan1" (?)... They often rant and complain about stuff I say.

Yes, read my other comments. If he is responding to a fake quote with a fake quote then it is sarcasm. I doubt the OP is being sarcastic.

In any case, yes.... sarcasm. I'm glad at least one person saw what I did there! :)
