I listened to him during my college years and I remember him arguing against the need for healthcare by eventually coming to the conclusion that people honestly shouldn’t be living longer. And even though the most stark conservative of my friends agreed with him on a lot of things, even they admitted how cold this was. Further, he seemed to be entirely uninformed with his opinions as I seem to recall him perpetuating (if not creating) the myth of Obama death camps. He was a loathsome individual, and from what I understood built the modern political partisan obstructionism that reigns in both parties today. To me, he will not be missed.

Failure to recognize satire. As for Obamas death committees, victim as charged. When I was supposed to keep my insurance and my doctor like Obama "promised", my "Cadillac Plan" was eliminated and my solo practice doctor was driven into group practice. Coincidentally I developed adult onset asthma at exactly the same time I did not have insurance, could not get insurance, did not have a doctor, could not get into a new doctor and nearly died. You probably never went to a doctor for and annual physical since it appears you are young and wouldn't need to put yourself through that. Let me just say Obamacare is no where near an annual physical. Now you have an annual visit. And you talk about all kinds of things with no examination, for example if you think you have a suspicious precancerous growth on your skin, you have to schedule another appointment to see if you have a suspicious precancerous growth. High blood pressure- new appointment. High Cholesterol, that would be another appointment. Travel for work and need those good old 90 day refills on your prescriptions? Nope, I don't think so. So when you are asthmatic, your job doesn't get you home for 45 days, you don't have any medication that keeps you from contracting pneumonia or dying of an asthma attack. That's what he was talking about. A bureaucrat decides your medical care, not you and your doctor. Move the decision process from personal liberty to centralized control. A panel of bureaucrats decide if you get care now, and to save costs the answer is NO! You don't get treatment.
Someone who spews as much hate as Rush was accused wouldn't last 33 years, those who tried it are long gone. You didn't listen to him. Be honest. You don't have to impress your friends here, because the people who did listen to him know you are a lying sack of poo.

Nah, I got the sarcasm. I drew my own conclusions and stopped listening to him after his own absurd and uninformed perspective. I'm sorry about your health problems but we're talking about Rush Limbaugh.

No you're not, you change the subject as soon as you are proven ignorant, uniformed and a loathsome animal. How many millions of dollars have you raised for charities like the Leukemia Foundation? How many millions of dollars have you raised for Tunnel To Towers Foundation to help first responders? Loathsome Limbaugh raised and gave millions. The fact is you never listened to him, if you did you couldn't call him loathsome. You're just a poser, trying to look informed, unbiased, sensitive, woke, and definitely not one of them thar knuckle draggers.

No idol just a good man who made things better while he had the chance. He made millions laugh, he made millions think, he encouraged millions to enjoy their freedom. He stood for justice and mercy, all he really did was say what millions of people know and try to live. And intolerant people like you, who never really listened to a thing we were saying are angry that we never bought into your idiocy. Rush was one man, but millions shared his views before he uttered a word. Guess that makes half of America shit in your eyes. No wonder you have no qualms making all America shit again.

You know, you're actually proving my point that he was a loathsome individual that only added to the ultra-partisan politics happening right now by calling me an animal, intolerant, idiotic liar; for simply stating an opinion.

I don't think half America is shit nor do I want to see it to be "shit again". Don't put words into my mouth. The people who don't understand that America was always great are the people trying to sell something. And I'm just not buying it. Maybe you are and that's fine. I'm just not. And maybe you should not be so defensive when people don't share your opinion. You've done nothing to convince me of Limbaugh's greatness. Only the insane fanaticism that I'm not too fond of that he's inspired inside you and people like you.

Good job!

"You know, you're actually proving my point that he was a loathsome individual that only added to the ultra-partisan politics happening right now by calling me an animal, intolerant, idiotic liar; for simply stating an opinion." What the hell are you doing to me?
Where in hell do you get the idea I don't think America has always been great?
Limbaugh expressed the same things you just did. Limbaugh was never the man you created in your mind. Look at Chuck Schumer and tell me who is adding to ultra- partisanship. Look at Maxine Waters and tell me who is adding to ultra- partisanship.
Limbaugh never inspired insane fanaticism. He articulated American principles, he countered the people who say America was founded on evil, he explained American exceptionalism, not that we are better than everyone else, but that the founding principles are exceptional because they are guided by freedom which is contrary to the history of mankind.
You are so wrong about some things, and you are so right that America has always been great because we are made up of every nationality and every creed, all seeking the freedom to live as free people. You are saying nothing different than Limbaugh said for 33 years. If you had listened to him you would know that, but you didn't for whatever reasons you had. That's fine. Your attacks on him are mere repetitions of the people who hated him because he exposed their anti-American agenda. Barrack Obama called the Bill of Rights a list of negative rights because they say what the government can not do to you. Think about it. Obama attacked the Bill of Rights for saying what the government can not do to you. Limbaugh defended the Bill of Rights for saying what the government can not do to you and the people who want the government to do anything it wants to do to you demonized Rush for speaking the truth. I give up, your mind is made up. I wish you well.

“Where in hell do you get the idea I don't think America has always been great?”

I never said you didn’t. You said, “No wonder you have no qualms making all America shit again.” Implying at some point it was. Then I said, “ The people who don't understand that America was always great are the people trying to sell something.” Never saying YOU didn’t think something. Not even making an assumption based on your implication.

I’m very careful with the way I talk. I try not to accuse or say what people know and think. I only comment on their response and make sure I include “many” or “few” and rarely include never” and “always” to avoid any hasty generalizations. I suggest you try it when next you construct your arguments. You may get fewer responses that are volatile that require you to sound so defenses when displaying your opinion online.

As I’ve said, I listened to Limbaugh. Have I listened to him in the last ten years besides a few sound bytes? Nope! Did I listen to him more than ten years ago for almost four or five years? Why yes, yes I did. And I didn’t find him any more informative but rather a reactionary like the likes of Bill Maher, Bill O’Reilly, Steven Colbert, Tucker Carlson, or Howard Stern. Entertaining? Certainly. Informative? Nope! I did not appreciate his perspective which was as volatile and defensive as yours. Maybe he matured a little in his waning years but I seriously doubt it. I simply don’t have the time or inclination to care. I’m sorry but I just wasn’t interested in what he had to say.

Nah, I'm fine with Soleimani dying. The problem comes when you realise that the rest of the middle east isn't so fine with it. I'm glad he's dead. A lot of people with guns aren't
7 ups, 4y
But they don't have a bomb maker anymore. Bomb or bullet? Odds are better against a bullet. I read a lot of Middle East news, Jerusalem Post, Al Jazeera English and others, with the exception of Iran and Turkey (governments) they were all very happy Solemani was vaporized.

I don't think so...he's saying that it's hypocritical to be happy one man with a venomous tongue died while decrying the death of another who actually facilitated physical violence.

It’s a false dichotomy because it implies those happy that Limbaugh is dead were outraged about Solemani. When, in fact, you can be happy both are dead or also outraged at the jubilation surrounding both those who are happy they’re dead. People are complicated creatures.

A political figure who, arguably, had a hand in turning the Republican Party into ultra-partisan extremists has passed away. Honestly, the damage he’s done cannot be undone by his mere death.

As for Solemani, I have no opinion on his death. I have a basic understanding of the situation surrounding his death and it honestly doesn’t make me less apathetic either way.

Repeating something isn't generally a good argument. There were folks who indeed were happy about Limbaugh dying and mad that we killed Solemani. Therefore your blanket accusation is false.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I wouldn’t have to repeat myself if people didn’t downvote people just because they disagree with them.

The only accusation that’s false is the label of hypocrisy in the OP’s meme. It is the very definition of a false dichotomy.

A false dichotomy is a type of informal, correlative-based fallacy in which a statement falsely claims or assumes an "either/or" situation, when in fact there is at least one additional logically valid option.

Since the OP’s claims people were “overjoyed” for one death does not negate the “outrage” of the other as a simple hypocrisy. The oversimplification of correlation of being either/or makes it a logical fallacy.

A): I only downvoted the duplicate.
B): The problem with your logic is that he wasn't claiming it was an exhaustive list. Therefore it does allow for more additional logical outcomes, which means it cannot possibly a fallacious statement. The meme opened with the word "if", which by its very definition allows for other possibilities.

Now, if he had opened with a declarative statement like, "People who celebrated when...etc", then it would have been exhaustive and indeed been a false dichotomy.

The thing is, it didn't.

Oh ultra-partisan. Yeah, casually partisan is so....... limp wristed, plain vanilla, worthless. As the woke socialists erode your freedom, you can think of the damage Limbaugh did by educating what freedom is and why it's important, why it has to be protected from non-partisan woke socialists.. You obviously don't know anything. Very ultra-partisan to comment utilizing the party line from the media. When you have some real world experience, feel free to say something meaningful.

Personally I don't celebrate any death, because we don't really have a moral right to do so. I especially think it's really lousy to celebrate the death of someone who was just really good at talking when you also feel apathetic towards someone who caused more physical harm than Trump ever did.

Then again, you seem to think that the entire Republican Party is 'ultra-partisan extremists', so I'm not sure this conversation is worth pursuing...People who judge either party by its fringe are generally a bit too drunk on the Kool-Aid to facilitate a good conversation, y'know?

No, I don’t think the entire Republican Party is full of ultra-partisans.

Just the majority.

The fringe that you say I shouldn’t judge the entire party on proved their control when they said they wouldn’t vote to convict Trump BEFORE the evidence was presented.

So let’s keep the Kool-Aid talk to those who think there is any political party that is not worthy of any criticism.

I'm happy to criticize anyone who deserves it...however there are scholars on both sides of the impeachment aisle (was it Constitutional, was it not) and I honestly do not know where I stand (hence why I've refrained from commenting as to the legitimacy of the trial)...therefore I for one will not fault either side for standing where they did. Both have compelling arguments.

People like this, sadly, are voting and while I agree their overly simplistic perspective is dangerous, I don’t think we should be preventing them from voting.

I think it’s our moral imperative to engage with these individuals even whilst they continue to find new ways to hate and villainize people for simply disagreeing with them.

And I know, it is exhausting but that doesn’t mean we stop trying.

eyyy you're proving my point by using typical imgflip user buzzwords. not that it matters to you when the first two words in your meme title are "admit it."

most propaganda in the united states wouldn't even convince anyone to believe in changing things about voting rights because both democrat and republican politicians want to stupid lowest common denominator to vote. in fact, they typically encourage americans to vote. ever get those "i voted" stickers or annoying students telling you to get registered? Genuinely makes you think you're making a difference when you aren't.

"He does get laid by equally stupid Marxist chicks"

lol that's not as bad as you make it sound.
