You can’t credibly blame events that took place months ago which have nothing to do with the election.
The proximate cause of the Capitol Hill riot was Trump’s incendiary speech, coupled with his failure to concede, and his solid two months of relentlessly lying about the election outcome. If he’d put his big boy pants on and conceded like every other defeated Presidential candidate has done in our history, there would have been no Capitol Hill riot and no cause for rioting.
Trump could have preserved what reputation he had. Instead, he threw it all away and is cruising toward the mother of all post-presidential cancellations, from impeachment to social media bans to loss of business relationships and events, up to and including a Category 5 hurricane of civil and criminal lawsuits.
But as far as those riots last summer go: You know what caused those riots, right?
Here’s a reminder.
Reform the police to get rid of the bad apples, and elect officials who respect elections and the law. It’s simple.
