what happened to innovation? the oil industry survives off of both being a monopoly and government subsidy. capitalism & the free market thrives off of innovation

the oil industry has americans sold on this lie as if cheap alternative fuels are not worth it

meanwhile...

That will take time. The oil industry isn't going anywhere anytime soon though we won't be as dependant on them that takes time and money not immediately after Biden bans fracking which is stupid.

"Biden bans fracking which is stupid."

not a bad move regarding environmental & economical prospects, especially since we have to do it in other countries. also, before you start talking about lithium mines, many oil fields are much, much bigger in size & number compared to lithium mines.

"That will take time"

that time has already been taken for the past century.

"The oil industry isn't going anywhere anytime soon though we won't be as dependant on them "

given that we've been lagging behind the rest of the world, we'll need to push ourselves in order to catch up and modernize

Do you think that renewables aren't all about subsidies?

the oil industry is also using its monopolistic power to threaten innovation. you should learn about how well they're taking texas central railway, a private venture. they're relying on corrupt politicians to shut it down

Hmmm, I'll bet someone's been arrested then if there's so much proof?

Or maybe I should just take the word of some anonymous name on a meme site that doesn't even know how to write proper English.

"I'll bet someone's been arrested then if there's so much proof?"

unfortunately, many of our politicians are "above the law", like they claim. they can literally buy themselves out of jail time. when the railroad industry sued the oil industry for buying out streetcar systems & lobbying, the government sued the oil industries $5000. that's the price of a used 1999 honda civic today. it's proof that our politicians can buy their way out of issues

"Or maybe I should just take the word of some anonymous name on a meme site that doesn't even know how to write proper English"

this is your best talking point thus far, and i don't care, because you can't debate for a dime, my friend. if you literally disbelieved information from some random meme site, you'd be debunking on almost every image on the front page right now.

Yeah, we can be a net importer or a net exporter, that's the choice.

Why? Is he going to try to get higher gas tax or something?

Remember when Obama was in office, and gas prices were up past 4 dollars? Yeah, we'll have that kind of economy. Again.
1 up, 3y
I doubt it. The reason prices are so low now is because of low demand due to the worldwide pandemic. Maybe if the world economy rebounds and booms in the next 4 years with industry and travel consuming more petroleum, then I could see prices go up to where it was when he was VP. But I don’t see Biden having anything to do with a booming economy. But he could, and probably will, try to increase taxes on petroleum products to appease his “green” followers.

How do you think he'll get us off of fossil fuels in four years?
1 up, 3y,
1 reply
I don’t think he will. Especially since fossil fuel is used so much in the process of making, distributing and maintaining “green” energy systems.

$3.199 at the local Circle K. Doesn’t make me think it has anything to do with the current occupant of the White House though.

Gas prices are expected to recover once Covid is defeated, the economy gets back to full steam, and Will Smith can take off his damn mask

Tl;dr whatever
