I don't like Zuckerberg but Facebook isn't a public entity. It's privately owned and everyone who uses his platform agrees to his terms of service. If anyone violates the rules he can delete their account. I don't see what the problem is. If you don't like it, find another social media website. There's plenty out there.

In 2016 I heard people online claim the Clinton Foundation & Soros were funding fact checkers... That was pretty much the extent of what I ever heard about it. I imagine China would be interested in anything that causes dissent/division in the US but I have not heard anything much about that.

Debates are for determining which opinions are superior to the given facts. However, in this weird world, we live in "fact-checkers" often take down differing opinions or anything that doesn't alone with the mainstream ideas. Therefore destroying the debating part of our society.
