2. I forgot to add that alongside weather patterns, decreased outdoor activity due to covid and fire bans also contributed to less wildfires in B.C. But yeah, 100% weather played a factor. There was more rain in B.C as compared to the west coast of the U.S, which was plagued by a drought. Don't take my word for it, take the word from meteorologists, professors, experts speaking. If you have a problem with their assessment of why wildfires are less common in Canada this year, take it up to them.
