Are you suggesting they stay because of the color of their skin, rather than sharing public policy goals?
2 ups, 4y,

No, I'm suggesting that leaving a political party due to skin color is a shallow reason to leave.

It isn't when they treat you like you're on a plantation and are owed their votes.
3 ups, 4y
I think both Biden and Owens are both underestimating the complexity of political values. That isn't a reason to change parties, especially if your values do not align with the one advocating for you to leave because of the color of your skin.

Black people are not leaving the Democratic Party BECAUSE of skin color, but there are millions that STAYING because of skin color.

To paraphrase Joe Biden, if you are not voting for him, “you ain’t black”.

Those that are leaving, are probably not leaving because they suddenly woke up and realized they have black skin, but more likely because they realized their skin color really does not determine who they should vote for, despite what Joe Biden thinks.

The full quote is; "If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” Biden was implying that black people have already made up their mind and probably going to vote for him because he thinks he's in their good graces. Yes, it is a gaffe, and one that might cost him votes and not just from black voters.

However, given Trump's current ability, or inability, it is fair to say that Biden is still a viable candidate and that a single gaffe (out of the dozens both men seem to spew on a daily basis) is not much of a reason to leave the Democrat party.

The mindset that I've seen from Republicans, especially Trump Supporters, is that if you acknowledge skin color then you're racist. Of course, this is an exaggeration of what the Left is doing, so it's perfectly understandable to take this position but not from a place of sincerity.

At worst, Biden is a poor attempt by the Democratic Party to prove they've not become full on socialists.

Biden is a long time racist.

Problem is, Now his dementia is f**king up his word filter.

“You ain’t black”

“What are you, a junkie”

But actually... he’s always been racist...

“racial jungle”

Both Biden and Trump are racist and suffering from dementia. If you're happy voting for a racist old man suffering from dementia, then so am I. It just so happens, I don't think one should be in office for four more years. And maybe the Biden administration will prove more competent than the Trump administration. Of course, I won't hold my breath tho.

I understand perfectly that Trump wants more than 6% of black voters to vote for him in the upcoming election. It's especially important to him that black women vote for him since less than one percent voted for him in 2016. And I'm sure the efforts of his conservative think tanks will not be in vain. But we'll just have to see, won't we?

A Joe Biden presidency would be devastating to America.

We cannot afford to have our nation led by a political hack who steals other people’s ideas and who has repeatedly shown immense disrespect for Black Americans.

He has actively harmed blacks with his aggressive criminal justice policies, and the policies he now endorses for handling the economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic threatens to hurt them and other working Americans even more.

So, much as you’d like me to... I am not going to wait and “just have to see”.

I am actively working at educating voters right now.

Here’s one For you right now: First Step Act.

Better. I recommend focusing more on Trump's accomplishments rather than the fear mongering message that "A Biden's Presidency would be devastating to America" as Democrats made a similar error and that is why Trump's opposition is so vitriol that it's drowned out the more constructive criticism surrounding Trump and his administration. And it's clear Trump can't handle any criticism, whether constructive or cruel.

“ A Joe Biden presidency would be devastating to America.“

You call that fear mongering? 😂 You must frighten very easily.

I don’t really worry about what turns moderates on or off anyway. Those wish-washy dipshits can just f**k off till they figure things out on their own.

So if you are a moderate, well.... you know what to do.
0 ups, 4y
I don't. But you do if you think a Joe Biden presidency would be devastating to America.
