Around 1900 the Irish were hated. Like all immigrants, they went through discrimination. Nearly every group entering the US had to deal with it, unfortunately. Eventually, most assimilated after a couple of generations.
Sadly, our black brothers and sisters were discriminated against since our founding. It's probably why BLM is so vocal (though I think misguided). All races bring gifts to this country and blacks are no exception. What saddens me is we can become bitter or better. Bitterness is easy. Betterness is the harder but more fulfilling road. BLM is bitterness. MLK was betterness.
