Maybe. The accuser withdrew the accusation, so we don't know. That doesn't mean that I am okay with having a president who "maybe" raped someone.

But that still does not answer the question. If the issue is sexual misconduct of a nature that would be criminal if proven, I see no way of choosing one over the other. So supporting Biden in the face of allegations while decrying Trump for the same behavior is like saying, "well, he's a creep, but he's *our* creep -- and our creep is better than yours."

As for choosing one candidate over the other at this point: If you view 20+ sexual assault allegations (including being sued in federal court for child rape, along with Epstein, who’s now widely known as having engaged in that) as equivalent to a single case of alleged sexual assault involving Tara Reade, then there is no way to choose between the two candidates on this issue.

But if you don’t see those as the same thing, then there is.

I think we can believe anybody we want, but to take action we need a higher standard than just allegation. Otherwise, no one will be elected to office because anyone can allege.

And yes, NotABigFan, I DO want to go down this path. In my opinion, a bona fide sexual assault is a High Crime and would demand an immediate removal from office. As above, this would have to be something more than mere allegation.

That's a court of law. In the court of public opinion, **where election are held**, an allegation can be as good as a conviction. I don't give a shit about Biden or Trump.
