17 tons of equipment doesn't sound like much. I read a story from Australia in which 2 Chinese companies sent staff out who went up buying same stuff in January. They procured more than 150 tons of equipment which they sent back to China leaving Australia short on certain supplies. Australia has less than 10% of the population of US. So if it was 1500 tons or more it would probably mean something more. As long as we dont buy from China we will be alright.
