the world might enter a recession in the next few years, but that won't be trump or any next president's fault. it'll be because of the coronavirus and china's industry being bigger than most other countries. imagine if china's gdp fell by a seemingly small number. the aftermath would be a catastrophe.

Ron White | NOTICE THEY NEVER DEFINE "ECONOMY"? AND GIVE THE PRESIDENT ALL THE CREDIT? | image tagged in ron white | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
the base premise is false from the start.
just a political football created to either praise,or condemn a president.

Eh, there’s some truth the point you’re making. However, I think to completely reduce the economic state of the country to simply a ‘created political football’ is ignorant and shortsighted. The executive branch’s administrative actions absolutely influence the economy.

It’s not exactly an exhaustive list, but here are three examples of economy harming actions, especially when done in tandem.

Shackling businesses with over-regulation harm’s the economy.

Increased individual income tax burdens (aka. wealth confiscation and redistribution) harms the economy.

Increased corporate taxes stifles product/technology innovation, investment, and growth of businesses.

unless you think the president is a monarch.

where the president can actual effect the market is in foreign policy.
and sometimes,to a lesser extent, political signaling..in which the market (wall street) will react, but this is usually short term.

fiscal policy is set by both the executive branch and congress.

our economy is not a monolith.

You’re welcome? I fail to see how I made your point though. You can walk back your original comment if you like, that a president receiving blame or credit for economic change is a false premise, and nothing more than a manufactured way to praise or condemn. I disagree, I think the economic state of our country has a lot to do with actions taken by administrations, and I never came close to suggesting 'our economy is a monolith'.

I merely pointed out your ignorance. Sane, rational people would start questioning the "reasoning" behind your argument given that you have a flawed ability to wield the English language.

This evidently infuriated you so much you went full retard toddler in response. Now your argument can be called into question due to your emotional immaturity.

Did you make a valid point? That's completely irrelevant. Your mistake and emotionally immature response made anything you said utterly suspect. All of which, I take no small amount of joy pointing out, is on YOU.

Sure, but you can bet if the "economy" was not doing well, Trump would be blamed by the lamestream media. That alone, imo, is enough justification for him to claim credit for it.

That, and of course, the fact that the previous president is trying to take credit for something he said could not happen.

you poor sad thing. you can't call me out on an embarrassing mistake you made ( :

here's what just happened:

1) 3rd4thT said "Farm bankruptcies are at an 8-year high."
2) then you said nationwide farm bankruptcies are not at an all-time high
3) then I said "he didn't say they were, Francis" (which obviously he didn't)
4) then you replied with equal snarkiness, but much less logic, "so what did he say, ginger?"
5) then I pointed out, again, that you either didn't read it right or you just can't tell facts from spin anymore
6) then you changed your position, hoping no one would notice. but we did ( :

His point about 8 year high is a lie, but in the immortal words if your failed queen

What difference does it make now
