OK, so the logic goes like this:
1. Electoral college abolished tomorrow
2. "No one cares" anymore about smaller-populated states
3. So Lyle & Louise decide to move from Idaho to California and suddenly their votes matter
4. But Alan & Stacy get relocated from California to Idaho and suddenly their votes don't matter
5. Even though Lyle & Louise are still <Party A> voters while Alan & Stacy are still <Party B> voters... because let's face it, moving to a new state doesn't change your whole political alignment
6. But so what, you only matter if you live in a big heavily populated state
OK, enough sarcasm. The hyperfocus on this state vs. that state is a product of the Electoral College, not the justification for keeping it. Get rid of the Electoral College and state lines disappear, it's just one country with one vote for each person.
