I understand that much of the middle class wealth created after WWII was by white males who were offered low interest loans on prime real estate that the blacks could not own but, I'm not seeing a monetary amount as making a lot of sense. I'm not seeing this as something that has any chance of happening either. Sort of like outlawing guns. It isn't happening.

I have to agree and I'm about as liberal thinking as a kind-of-middle-of-the-road person can be. That's why I don't think this will ever happen. It will never get enough support.

I still think that a black person on average does not have a level playing field, mainly because of Sydney's comment. So, a lump sum means we can wipe our hands of racism and walk away? It won't do anything to change the fact that Sydney brought up, an overrepresentation in welfare. Black or white, growing up in welfare on average, reduces your overall lifetime output. You don't have parents who went to college, you don't have parents who can navigate employment, you likely have no transportation, you're starting at an extreme deficit that is hard to overcome and hard to change the over representation in welfare.
