I actually believe she thinks she's telling the truth. But memory is an inaccurate thing. It was 30 years ago, she was a teenager, she said the boys were drunk (realistically that means most people, including herself, were probably drunk too). Her memory could be inaccurate as to when it occured, exactly what occured, or even which male(s) from the party were involved.

That's why when you get sexually assaulted, you go to the police immediately and not wait 35 years at a pivotal point of time that is too obviously politically motivated.
