Got in a debate about this with someone the other week, I asked what did that person do to help stiffle this Global Warming that ended 1999. The response? Shut the lights off when not using them.
WOO! WOO! YAY! THE EARTH IS SAVED!

Actually there was truth to ozone depletion cause by chloroflourocarbons used in aerosols and refrigeration & air condtioning. The use was eliminated in spray cans, and safely removed for disposal in the latter when those machines are being thrown out. So the ozone has recovered significantly since the 1980s.

Here's that thread with the Global Warming hero extraordinaire:

Yeah, it's not just ozone, unfortunately.

I remember there was a global cooling scare decades ago. lol

I don't really remember, but I've heard that was a thing not that long ago (in the grand scheme of a planet that was once a ball of molten lava)!

Well, there's a difference between weather and climate. The collective average global temperature is increasing. This does not mean that all places will immediately become warmer. This graph, specifically, has no reference of time or increase.

Really? Golly, let me jot that down.

This alleged 'collective average global temperature increase' is derived from frequency of high temp points in select areas which are generally near centers of human habitation. That means heat islands artificially created by deforestation replaced with concrete and tar impacting local trends in weather. The farther away you get, the less the impact.

FACT: These 'collective average global temperature increases' climaxed in the 1990s.

FACT: These 'collective average global temperature increases ceased in 1999.

FACT: These 'collective average global temperature increases' have generally reversed since to levels seen in the 'Ice Age cometh' 1970s.

FACT: This reversal in 'collective average global temperature increases' was accomodated by the agenda biased scientific establishment claiming such redubbing "Global Warming" the new fangled and irrefutable "Climate Change" - something which has been occuring on Earth for 4.5 billion years.

Cold dips are dismissed in the narrative as blips caused by jet streams, while this year's warm trend in the US and Europe will not be attributed to the jet stream coming north from Africa, but as proof that general weather patterns are being altered by anthropogenic Climate Change.

As was exposed a few years ago, British scientists have been ommitting data unfavorable to the theory and fudging other data to work as proof.

True. We don't know everything about our planet's climate. However, we do know that CO2 retains higher amounts of heat than normal atmospheric conditions. By adding more CO2 to the atmosphere, we're forcing the atmosphere to retain more heat from the Sun, thereby increasing atmospheric temperature. I don't disagree. We need to do more research, but limiting our impact on the environment may be better in some cases. In other cases, such as using livestock to mimic wild herds that are now gone, we can have a positive environmental impact that benefits all parties. Just... make sure all that methane doesn't mess up the atmosphere, either. Yeah, we have a long, long way to go before we can understand everything.

I believe CO2 is a greenhouse gas and that people make a lot of CO2, but I think the climate change we're observing is part of the same trend that started thousands of years ago; the ending of the last ice-age. I fully believe in energy conservation, but mostly from an economic standpoint.
