Not sure if local or state, having trouble finding the source I read a few months ago, but at the moment, the discussion is should they charge repeat overdosers for the drug. It's not cheap: ~$135 a pack. Getting the money out of the drug abusers will be a problem, though. You can force them into rehab, but you can't make the rehab stick.

At the risk of sounding insensitive, it seems to me that Narcan just gives junkies another chance to get high. How many doses does it take to stop being an addict? How many use it and become a productive member of society? Demi Lovato is a great example.

It's sickening, not just insulin but meds for the treatment and care of epilepsy and cystic fibrosis also have skyrocketed. But the bleeding hearts would rather hold people born with such conditions somehow responsible (or theor parents), while pouring all their sympathy out to addicts.
