I presumed gender, also how are her hands at that position, i doesn't correspond to where they are standing

I had to look for a long time, but it looks like she is holding the sign up backward, as in she's facing away from the camera with one hand, her left, holding the sign normally, while the other hand, her right, is sort of backward. It's as confusing as considering how she came to write her message in that way.

Look, lets say, hold it normally and confuse us less
