Haha no, that's a whole different issue. Since she was a baby I was like most other dads, catching her when she was learning to walk and snapping pictures at every opportunity. Now I'm trying to let her get her life started and resisting the urge to run to the rescue when she hits a tight spot.

It depends on the situation. My daughter's mom ran off and I raised my daughter alone. All we had was each other. She still sits on my lap the same way she always has, it's our way of bonding and sharing information. Sometimes she sits on my lap and cries on my shoulder, other times it's to tell me about some accomplishment. My lap is her safe place. She knows that as long she has that everything will be okay. So it's not always creepy for a grown woman to sit on her dad's lap. It does depend on the situation.
