Sort of a straw man argument for a few reasons. First of all, yes there are people calling for disarming some police. There are many countries where cops don't bring guns to traffic stops or if they're just filling out a police report for a robbery that already happened. Second of all, nobody is calling for complete removal of all guns from society entirely so it makes sense to say in a case where 20-50 people are killed by someone who should've never had a semi-automatic weapon, that stricter gun control could've helped to prevent some or all of those deaths, while when trained and licensed police officers kill people, it's a structural issue that needs to be dealt with in a different way.
