I have no problem with you pointing out additional examples of double standards at all. However, if you are assuming that I am Christian or have any other religious affiliation, you are incorrect. To do so would be much like me assuming your gender. And I, for one, abhor double standards wherever they exist.

Let’s just say that I see an enormous amount of hypocrisy on the lib side on a daily basis. But I will concede that somewhere in the lib universe there are probably some unwavering standards.

This is a straw man argument... I don't know any liberals who think sharia law is cool. Sharia law is anti-women. Meanwhile, Trump and Pence are totally cool with making female journalists stand behind a fence behind male journalists while they visit the wall in Israel, because they're being respectful of Israeli culture. Then Trump tweets positive things about the women's march. Talk about double-standards.

You say that you don't know any liberals who think sharia law is cool. But the liberal silence on the treatment of women under sharia law is deafening. Yet when those who aren't liberal point out the flaws in Sharia law, the liberals quickly resort to terms like racism in describing those who point out the flaws.

I know it's free speech, and I'm okay with that. What I'm not okay with is liberals calling Christian viewpoints hate speech while refusing to say anything bad about Islam.

The thing is, they are trying to use the Constitutional right of freedom of religion to justify implementing sharia law. It creates a Catch-22 conundrum because although they technically have the right to practice their religion, they don't have the right to oppress others, and Sharia law is oppressive.

Since Jesus fulfilled the OT Law, all we need to do now is believe in Jesus dying for our sins, love Our Father with all of our hearts, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

You see, I think you DO understand the difference, but are incapable of admitting wrongdoing because it would mean you are somehow weak. And weakness means you somehow "Lose" the conversation. Many modern American evangelicals are so often more concerned with WINNING than GROWING.

I find it odd that so many who claim a religious faith based entirely on the idea that all humans are sinful and in need of not only salvation from a perfect God, but are also in need of a personal transformation of character to be more like His Son, are incapable of putting aside their pride for five seconds and admit they did something wrong to another person in order that they CAN grow.

I apologize for using that language back at you. Does that make me better than you? No. Does your use of vitriol and insult make you worse than me? No. But your heart is between you and your God.

I called you on your hypocritical actions in claiming what "Real Christians" are while denying transformational Christianity with your actions. If you get so burned up when someone calls you out on your claiming the Christian label while denying Him by your actions IN THE SAME SENTENCE, then that's an issue in YOUR heart, and one you need to talk to God about, not me. You should be emulating Jesus, not arguing why it's OK that you don't want to.

I struggle with that pride, too. What I do with it is on me, not anyone else. What YOU do with it is on YOU, not anyone else. You can't turn YOUR failings on anyone but YOU. God taught me that a LONG time ago.

You're taking this awfully personally. The issue is between marriedpat and MyrianWaffleEV. I just get tired of people expecting Christians to be perfect while everyone else gets a pass. Jesus wants us to forgive, even if the one you forgive doesn't apologize. I've had to forgive a LOT of people who've never apologized to me, because Jesus says if you don't forgive, YOU won't be forgiven.
That said, I forgive you for twisting what God said, what I said, and what marriedpat said. Maybe God will open your eyes and soften your heart so that you can understand.

Like I said earlier, I personally struggle with not using profanity. I find myself apologizing to God every time I get cut off in traffic! It's a tough habit to break but I'm working on it. Sometimes things get me so angry I can't find any other words to let me blow off steam. I guess that's why I took up for marriedpat because I know the feeling.

Hopefully all of us (humanity) will get better at emulating Jesus and start really doing what He wants us to do.
