The lady in the picture is Kitty Werthmann. She is a WW2 survivor who lived under Hitler's reign in Austria. Hitler also wanted the people he took over unarmed. And like some people on here, and everyone else against the 2nd Amendment, Hitler's enforcers wanted to stop crimes and gun violence. Or that was the narrative the people got told. And we all know what happened to people under Hitler's rule.

You can listen to her here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZYjgicQOJU

Do you know the history prior to the establishment of the Declaration of Independence and the reasons behind them choosing to establish a Republic with preservation of rights for it's citizens?

Your meme makes me think of this one I found on Google.

No, that is not my argument. My argument is the one Kitty said. That if Austria had kept their guns they could have fought to keep their freedom. And in the event a modern dictator rolls around, we will have the ability to fight.

The Second Amendment is not to defend ourselves from our own government. If our government becomes tyrannical it will no longer be our government that our country was founded on. Such a government would have to do away with the Constitution and everything. At that point fighting an inside takeover coup like that would be no different than fighting any other enemy force. The Second Amendment is to defend against a tyrannical takeover like Hitler did in WW2. It is to defend against riots in the event of an economic collapse. It is to defend against the home invader intent on taking everything.

The point of your meme is that governments have satellite weapons and other advanced weapons. So having guns to defend against them would be useless? And we might as well hand in our guns since they would be useless against all this immense weaponry? That is your argument?

So by that logic the Police are screwed with their little handguns. They should just give up now.
New recruits in basic training should no longer train in basic marksmanship because rifles are useless with all this advanced weaponry.
And we should be able to steam roll isis, al Qaeda, Hezbollah and every other islamic jihad group.
Let's take it a step further and assume that North Korea launches all their WMD's. The US and our allies responds. China and Russia defend NK and respond like wise. At that point no one will give a dusty rat's ass if Bruce Jenner is not regarded as a true woman. No one will care about Trump's tweet. No one will care about sexual harassment allegations against a politician that happened 10 years ago. Yes, by that point a lot of things, more than just guns, will be useless. And the list goes on and on.
If that is your argument, that we should give up our guns because they would be rendered useless against all this immense fire power? Why not do away and give up with everything else that would be just as useless against a missile? That argument is just a flimsy excuse to give up. The notion that the Second Amendment should be done away with because governments have more advanced weapons is a fallacy.

If not guns, what else will mass murders kill people with? Knifes? Axes? Chainsaws? The answer might be home-made guns, which could be dangerous even to the shooter. But in my opinion, we should have all the guns we want. Then, it would take an idiot, or mental person to rob a house/store, or kill people, because they're is going to be at least 2+ people with guns of their own. But that's just me.

I personally like the idea of a world without guns (partially because of violence, but mostly because I like swords). However, I don't think that erasing all guns from existence is possible, so the next best thing is making sure everyone has what they need to protect themselves in a world with guns (or at least is allowed to have what they need to protect themselves).

Because they cracked down on guns and knives and other things for self protection, some countries in Europe have a really bad problem with acid attacks as in people throwing it on someone and giving them really bad chemical burns, just something to think about

I know a guy that says that he was attacked by a guy with a weapon, he'd rather it be a gun, than a bat, and a bat over a knife, because of how you'd go. If he fails to disarm them, he'll have a swift death. Compared to a knife witch he'll bleed out, after extracting his revenge.

Yeah, right on brother! That man in Las Vegas would have knifed 500 people in his mass murder spree, he didn't need those guns.

Drugs are illegal too. Nobody does drugs amirite?

It just depends on the product. There are lots of drugs and even more guns in circulation than hand grenades.

There are people with hand grenades, but to acquire them legally or illegally is expensive and they're not very practical for criminal or recreational purposes.

Hypocrite.

"No guns, they're not safe. Let me do drugs so I can ignore reality better" - thats you.

Someone needs to mug you with a knife so you'll understand the value of being able to protect yourself. No amount of discussion is going to change your mind. You need some real life experience. Fool.

I volunteer at a war museum and people have brought in live grenades before XD. I'm not disagreeing with you i just thought it was kinda ironic
