In the end, it's all political. Had Trump been shot dead 10 years ago, it would have been either a murder or justifiable homicide. Today, it would be an assassination. Even retired from the limelight after 25 years, had George HW Bush been shot dead, it would be an assassination.

It's more a matter of money.
If someone throws enough Money in it to get pro's then it's an assassination, otherwise it's usually some lopwlevel disorganised scum WHO takes up the job...

I never thought about the difference that much. I guess the difference might be that an assassination serves a purpose more than just the death of an individual. And murder is just the death of an individual with no real greater purpose for their death.

I am reading a book called The Perfect Kill - 21 Laws For Assassins, by Robert B. Baer and it has to do with assassination. It is interesting, have you heard of the book?
